Very good, quiet location for trips to the highlands. When there was a power outage, the owner responded immediately and took care of the problem. The grill on the large terrace compensates for the limited cooking options on the stovetop. Hot tub on the terrace increases the relaxation value.

Our group of 4 really enjoyed the location - very quiet, off the beaten track with superlative views of Hekla, a river winding along the back of the property and Icelandic horses to pet. In addition very conveniently placed as an entry point into the Highlands. This is what appealed to me enough to book in the first place. Property was clean, well equipped and we used the hot tub which was perfect after a long day.

I would say the rooms are very small and be prepared to drive a gravel road to reach the cabin, but that’s all.

The accommodation is very quiet, so you can be alone and enjoy the silence. The accommodation also offers beautiful views of the mountains. We enjoyed this in the hot tub every evening. One day we had a power outage. The owners were in the neighboring house and were very friendly and immediately rushed to help us.

With more than 3 people the accommodation will definitely be too tight. In addition, the cleanliness of the accommodation inside was not satisfactory. We stayed in the accommodation for a week, so you would like to clean yourself in between to feel comfortable. Unfortunately there was neither a broom nor a vacuum cleaner in the apartment to clean the floors. Everything else was there.
